The renowned DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall passed away at the age of 56 from a pulmonary embolism. Weatherall, who was born in Windsor, England, became well-known during the acid house and dance movement of the 1990s. His work on Primal Scream’s Screamadelica transformed it into an era-defining album, fusing the band’s rock swagger with club influences to create a dance album infused with the fiery energy of punk. He also collaborated with superstars like New Order and Happy Mondays.
