Arab Leaders Increasingly Angry at Israel, Palestinian Lives Are Called Worthless

Arab leaders condemned Israel’s two-week bombardment of the Gaza Strip. At the high-level meeting of the Cairo Peace Summit, Saturday, October 21 2023, King Abdullah of Jordan condemned countries that remained silent about Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip. He added that he was angry and saddened by the acts of violence committed against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Israel.

Israel’s leadership must realize once and for all that a country can never thrive if it built on a foundation of injustice.

“Our message to Israel is that we want a peaceful and secure future for you and the Palestinian people,” he said. “We will not leave, we will not leave,” he said at the summit.
Israel has vowed to wipe out the Gaza-based militant group Hamas from the face of the earth following a deadly attack by the Palestinian militant group. About 1,400 Israelis were kill last October 7, 2023.
The meeting in Cairo sought ways to prevent a wider regional war. In his speech, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his country opposed the transfer of Palestinians to Egypt’s Sinai region.

Egypt’s position reflects Arab fears that Palestinians will again flee or be force to leave their homes en masse.

Something similar happened during the war surrounding the creation of Israel in 1948.
Egypt has been trying for days to channel humanitarian aid to Gaza through the crossing. The only access route not controlled by Israel.
