Indonesian Citizens Survive a Rainstorm in Mecca. He Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday, August 24 2023 that no Indonesian citizens were victims of the rainstorm in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah has coordinated with local authorities and Indonesian citizen nodesin the Land of the Kaaba. Previously on Wednesday, August 23 2023, heavy rain accompanied by lightning hit most of Saudi Arabia including the holy city of Mecca. Authorities in Mecca ordered schools to close for the day due to the unstable weather. Videos circulating on social media show worshipers sheltering from overnight thunderstorms.
